downtown adventure.

friday before i left for the red centre i went downtown and spent the morning there. i got up early and left at 6:50am to go with john. we got there around 7:20 and he bought me a coffee and at 7:30 i was on my own.  i walked along the river and stumbled across the botanical gardens. a garden in the middle of the city. still just blows my mind. nature in the city! it's possible! it can be found! i spent the day admiring God's beautiful and wild creations. looking at all the flowers, trees, different tree trunks and patterns and textures, the little bugs, the many spiders and their magnificent spider webs, the beautiful fresh air, the blue sky, the warmth of the sun shining down on me. beautiful and couldn't be better. i then wandered across a bridge and found south bank where it's a man made beach sitting right by the river. a beach in the middle of the city looking out over the river. crazy fun! and i hung out there for a good while. just dipped my feet in the pool and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. i then walked across another bridge, went into the city and shopped along queen street for some souvenirs. and then back across the bridge, found my bus and rode home. i enjoyed the city a lot more this time because i knew more of what i was doing and i felt more at home and in an adventuristic attitude. i knew my way around and where to go. so it was nice.
